Default Memory Woes

So I went to DDR3 and AM3 motherboard and now memory woes abound lol. I've got two sticks of DDR-1333 9-9-9-24, one made by Avant the other by PNY. Both work on there own alone, but for them to work together i have to set voltage to 1.71 and reduce to DDR3 1066. Both ram modles have hynix ram, reason its not a matched kit, as I got traded 4gb of DDR2 667 for a 2gb stick of the PNY DDR3 1333, and went and bought another stick today, and the shop I order parts from, for myself and clients is out of the PNY, so I bought some avant instead, and they dont play well. Any way around this besides buying new ram, neither stick is defective and both pass memtest.
