Default EVGA GeForce GTX 580 FTW Hydro Copper 2

Has any one had a chance to review this card yet? I keep lookin around and I can't find anything so I wondering if any community members have it and have done their own benchmarks.

If your wanting a water cooled GTX 580, it's as good as any place to start. It's factory clocks are not real impressive, but it seems primed for user intervention in that department.

Talking Re: EVGA GeForce GTX 580 FTW Hydro Copper 2

Well I decided to just go for it after reading Hot Hardware's review back in Jan and I just got them in! I am getting my new water cooling pieces in tomorrow and I will be posting benchmarks along with pictures of the new rig by the weekend. I all ready updated my signature to reflect what I have coming in/have right now. This is going to be one mean machine when it is all assembled.

I have had this behemoth up and running for 2 days now with nothing discouraging to report. I have done no manual overclocking as of yet, the MB does however auto overclock the CPU to 3.2ghz. With that in mind my benchmark with 3d Mark Vantage was P41258 and with 3d Mark 11 was P8392. The idle operating temp is only 34c for the CPU and 28c for both GPUs with the ambient temp at 70f and the fan/pump speed only at 6. When playing BFBC2 and CODBO MP last night the temps went up to 47c for the CPU and 39c for the GPUs again running the fan/pump speed only at 6 (10 being max). These are pretty amazing numbers considering that stock air cooled versions can't come close to the load temps here at idle. I have no doubt there is major head room here for overclocking but I like to let any machine run for at least 2 weeks to make sure there is absolutely no problems with them running stock speeds before overclocking.

The case did previously have a 3 fan radiator system I just installed the riser to accommodate the new 4 fan radiator unit, I also had to make some modifications to how the radiator mounted to the fan assembly. The way it wanted to go in was with the in & out ports at the back of the case and even with the riser the Bitspower 90deg compression fittings it would hit the case's top that had not been cut out for the previous 3 fan cooling unit. Thus I had to put in some new mounting holes in the vents of the new radiator so I could turn it 180 deg and have the fittings drop into the case. This is the only problem I had so if any one intendeds to do what I did you would probably be better off spending the extra on the Koolance compression fittings if you don't feel comfortable modifying your new radiator.

Thanks Greedo!

I decided to move it out from under my desk extension there and my CPU temp dropped another 7c, as of right now it is 27c. She just needed some breathing room (c:

Going to test to see how much it goes up on a load here in a little while.
