The next big game Crysis 2 does not support DirectX 11 at launch on 25 March.

At a presentation to Nvidia's new graphics card in the GeForce 500-series revealed that Crysis 2 initially will not include support for DirectX 11, instead, all PC gamers had to make do with the six year old DirectX 9.

Meh. DX10 and 11 haven't brought squat to the graphics table. Or when they have, the frame rates are sorely affected.

I'd rather see high res textures.

Not really bothered. If they can create half the fun i am having with the MP demo then i am sold. Really cannot wait for SP. I have some KPA or what ever minions to terrorise

DX11 adds tessellation and newer cards perform very well.

Single Player(near complete) Benchmarked with one level on Nvidia cards. Looks like single player will also be Dx9 until they patch the game later for dx11.

Judging from that guide, we can assume the final retail game will have higher quality textures, but not much else. :meh

Wasn't it CoJ that came out DX9, but was later patched to DX10- and that patched upped the IQ quite significantly?

If it works out the same with Crysis 2 I have no bones with this. Think about it- the patch wont be for consoles in the slightest- it is entirely devoted to the PC platform alone. If it'll bring about drastic increase in IQ then fine by me.

When I think of Crysis I think of a game that's got in-game visuals so detailed and realistic (for the time) that it makes current top-end rigs scream, cry, and beg for mercy. If this patch ups the visuals to that point, I'll not complain.

Crytek started out with PCs, I'm not gonna' lose faith in them yet. Still not buying it till it drops in price... but I do plan on buying it none-the-less.

CONSOLE PORT.

Consoles are killing PC gaming.....until the 360 gets replaced with a DX10 or 11 console we are going to continue with these garbage ports and U3 based games.

They just want to sell 6 million copies to the console idiots. PC game sales don't really matter to them.
