The Google Chrome version works without problems (i use it in Opera). BTW it seems it has vdpau in it: Code:
$ strings /opt/google/chrome/libgcflashplayer.so | grep VDPAUglVDPAUInitNV glVDPAUFiniNV glVDPAUUnregisterSurfaceNV glVDPAUSurfaceAccessNV glVDPAUMapSurfacesNV glVDPAUUnmapSurfacesNV glVDPAURegisterOutputSurfaceNV |

I'm using Chromium which doesn't use a bundled plugin and 10.2 r152 still gives no acceleration on YouTube (but does on Adobe test vids)

I tested it with Opera and was working on youtube. Make sure you pick a 1080p video (such as big buck bunny).
But you MUST have the /etc/adobe/mms.cfg file created with this content in it: EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode=1 |

That was the video I was trying in 1080p and I have the mms.cfg option.

What card do you have?
I have a nvidia 8200 (vdpau B) and hardware acceleration/decoding was working on that video. |

H.264 acceleration doesn't seem to work - youtube says I have "undefined video renderer"
![]() I have both Code:
EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode=1 OverrideGPUValidation=true Firefox says Shockwave Flash 11.0 d0 is loaded. At the same time Molehill technology demonstrated here works as expected, CPU usage is around 5%. Adobe's own demo doesn't work, I get Code:
An ActionScript error has occurred: Error: (E)-ns- Gateway Service call error to http://tv.adobe... AdobeTV v.2.1.0340 on date:Wed Mar 2 10:59:22 GMT+0000 2011 at org.wreckmedia.infinite.player.model::RemotingObject/nsError() |

Ubuntu 64bit Chromium http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ou6_M...layer_embedded This video apparently is Stage Video enabled. I'm seeing 60% cpu and 'Software Rendering' in the video info. |

I have the 11 flash working (nvidia 8200 integrated + 270.26 drivers, Debian Squeeze 32-bit, Opera 11.10 browser).
Plugin: Description: Shockwave Flash 11.0 d0 /home/laca/.mozilla/plugins/flash-11/libflashplayer.so /etc/adobe/mms.cfg file: EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode=1 OverrideGPUValidation=true Check the attachment. Test subject: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSGBVzeBUbk !! The real hw acceleration can be seen only after the whole video is cached to disk!!. The caching process eats lots of cpu cycles it seems. Until then i had 50% operapluginwrapper and 38% Opera processes, after it cached completely i had 20-30% operapluginwrapper and 2% Opera processes. All this with 1080p and the larger video size (not fullscreen). Quote:
The screenshot is taken with the 11 d0 flash. The tearing is not visible while playing. Also, there is no garbage on the screen as with the 10.2.152 version. |

Seems that there is a myriad of different flash versions available. Is there any way of getting video acceleration to work with a 64 bit flash player yet?

10.2.152.27 - the vanilla Adobe flash for Linux - has Stage Video support (hardware decoding with vdpau(nvidia) and uvd2/3(ati/amd) capable cards), but disabled by default. Can be enabled by inserting EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode=1 in the /etc/adobe/mms.cfg file. It is unstable on nvidia cards that use the proprietary driver, if hw acceleration is enabled leads to corrupted display areas. Also it crashes a lot. 10.2.r154 - the flash plugin shipped with Chrome browser. It seems that the Stage Video is disabled for good in this one, the mms.cfg file contents are ignored. The good is that it is very stable (well, as much as flash can be...). And there is one test version: 11 d0 - Seems better than the 152 version, works quite good and no screen corruption is observed. But still crashes now and then. It has support for some nifty 3d capabilities (there are some adobe demos). Enabling them you need to modify the /etc/adobe/mms.cfg file like this: EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode=1 OverrideGPUValidation=true Anyway, some sites will refuse to work with 11 d0 or 10.2.152 if hw acceleration is enabled. |
