For those who just bought an iPad, see this article and hopefully you can get a refund for the amount stated.

Not sure if there are other exceptions

Any dual core device shouldn't have any issues running flash, and the lack of flash on the ipad 2 makes it almost not worth it. I use flash almost every day on my phone and I'd get plenty frustrated if I didn't have it.

Google it, I think it's still active.

My friend got his on Thursday and I have to say, Honeycomb is quite nice. The interface is butter-smooth and the widgets are pretty sweet. The form-factor is also not bad, smaller than I thought it would be.

He mentioned the OS is still a work in progress, as it is the first release for Honeycomb, but overall he liked it a lot better than his rooted 2.3.2 on his Evo.

The browser was also quite nice but, I have to say, I am definitely looking forward to the new update with Flash enabled.

-edit-

Here's the link I saw online for the pricing

I'll probably get an iPad 2 at some point. Just wish it was as cheap here as well but it's $250 more expensive.

Yesterday, I walked around the Geneva Motor Show and the iPad was dominating. 80% of all booths used the iPad and custom apps for their car descriptions. Mercedes did an awesome job with this. Other like Volvo were decent but not as polished. And others even replaced their computers at the info stands with iPads and the keyboard dock. Some still went "oldschool" and used the latest Apple Cinema Displays or iMacs.
Hot booth babes, beautiful cars and Apple hardware all over it - perfect
Here's the thing Slawter, I doubt you will find anyone who will say "Flash is the greatest thing EVER".

What really grinds the gears is that the competition give you the OPTION. Many sites I go to STILL use flash (unfortunately the Anime and Manga world has not progressed to HTML5 yet) and there are many other video aggregators who also still use Flash for videos. And then there is the game angle. A lot of short time-wasters and indie games out there work only on Flash. I don't want to be forced into purchasing apps from the app store because Apple wants me to only use what they deem correct.

There is a lot of potential and I do enjoy the form-factor and polish. But I detest the closed nature of the beast.

WRT car's, typically whatever is big at the moment will dominate because car manufacturers want to resonate with the average person on the street.

I could care less about flash. I use Firefox on my PC and I use Flashblock. With Apples phones and iPad I don't have to play around trying to use a Flashblocker.

Nobody is forcing anyone to buy Apple products. And Apple should have the right to make things the way they want and if you don't like don't buy.

I have an iPhone. I've had one since the 3G came out

People are going to buy the iPad and iPhone and other products because they are... well... it goes without saying.

Flashblock and other applications typically block flash based ads. Flash content such as games or videos is usually not blocked.

There is a distinct lack of choice, lack of things like widgets and other components. If you go to any tech site where discussions such as this occur, it usually starts off this way.

Think back to multi-tasking, or copy and paste. So many people posted comments about why Appe should be able to do what it wants and if you don't want it, don't buy it and all that crap. And, as soon as Apple GETS that feature, its almost like they invented it and now that feature is a god-send and should be used as a crutch with which to attack other platforms (such as Win-Mo which didn't have cut and paste and proper multi-tasking when it was released).

I would like to avoid having that kind of discussion if at all possible
