Question 560 Ti drivers

So this card has been out for 3-4 weeks now - Windows driver supported the card since v266.66. Linux driver is still at v260.19.36.

How long does it usually take them to get an official driver released for Linux? What is the usual lag team between Windows development and Linux, on average?

Which beta drivers (if any) support the 560 Ti in Linux today? (Ubuntu for me...)

Thanks

You don't have to look very far, it is a pinned topic.

Thanks, but while beta drivers may get me going now, my central question is:

"How long does it usually take them to get an official driver released for Linux? What is the usual lag team between Windows development and Linux, on average?"

What problem do you have with these Beta drivers?

I don't want beta software; I want to be able to go to nvidia.com and get the official driver just like I can for Windows. I can see there is a lag time between Windows release and Linux release, which is not surprising, but no one here can tell me how long that lag time usually is.

All I know is it's over a month later and still no production driver for the 560 Ti for Linux.

  • No certified downloads were found for this configuration.

Linux beta drivers are usually rock solid - trust me, I've been testing/using all NVIDIA linux drivers releases since 1999.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but I just installed a GTX 560Ti and found out that the second DVI port doesn't work properly. Not sure if this is a HW issue (seems unlikely given that everything else works perfectly) or an issue with the beta driver.
