We'll have to see how much this sucker costs. If it's less than a GTX 580, then I'd say it's an interesting proposition. If it's more expensive then...no. The announcement claims the former, but a lot of sites like to price gouge...

so 2GB on card turns into 1GB per GPU, you only have 1GB of effective video memory |

this card is basically a direct x 11 version of the gtx 295. Instead of two gtx 260's, it's two gtx 460's. As long as it's cheaper than the 580, it will be a hit for the budget gamer looking for performance. Nvidia should have made this a reference card for all vendors unless that happens to be the case. Because not everyone will be buying the expensive and exclusive gtx 590 because of it's price, especially in quad sli. But two 2 win cards in quad sli should be affordable. I wonder if you can assign one of the gpu's as physx for those games? Kinda pointless but another selling point for those that don't have card space for a dedicated physx card. I was thinking of how evga comboed a gts 250 with a gtx 275 for a physx/vid card back when. The ram at 1gb per gpu, budget gaming again. Probably would have been over cost of a gtx 580 to do more than that. and the 560 only has 1gb. It's only the two high end models that go over the 1gb limit in the 470/480 and 570/580. What I am getting at is you guys probably have lots of cash where evga and other vendors have to accomodate to all consumers. Burnt Ram, you have what is technically the 460 2 win seperated into 2 cards. I am assuming you are upgrading based on your comments?

imo you can't compare the power of 2 260's to 2 460's. i have another computer with 2 260's in it and i can tell you from personal experience my dual 460 computer is a LOT faster than my dual 260 comp, no comparison really!

It's plenty for PhysX though, and that is why this card OWNS! It will sell millions! And likely steal ATi employees wives fro.....
Heh If this card is indeed 1GB per GPU it will be limited by this for Surround gaming. Should be a good card for 3d Vision though, or a bargain alternative for single panel gaming.

Two 460's with 2gigs of ram will run you about $460 dollars, so this thing will have to be significantly lower price than that. 1gb of ram is just horrible for anything but a budget video card. Not only will that kill it's surround performance, it will kill the use of AA in many titles. The only thing this cards has going for it is the fact that it's a single slot, which will sell some units, but not as many as you think. Much like Ati's nonsense of running 6 monitors off of a single card, this thing won't run 4 monitors worth a damn. I mean, did you look at the benchmarks they used to hide the cards flaws? |

one, it will more than likely be in the $400 range as two gtx 460's would put you at that range or a little less. and it's not single slot, it's dual slot. no way can you get those type of fans and design in single slot.

I mean a single PCI slot, for people who can't or don't want to run multiple cards, which seems to be about the only people who would buy this card. IMO the one gig of memory is just too big a negative to ignore for a card that's going to cost upwards of $400.
