GeForce GTX 590 features Surface

It looks like a board-partner presentation slide showing some information (though limited) on the upcoming flagship product from NVIDIA.

The slide does confirm some of the rumors like full shader processor count, dual-slot design and 3 GB of graphics memory. The slide also notes a 12 layer PCB (which is a lot really) combined with a 10-phase power design. Typically that would be 8+2 for memory.

Anyway, the slide does not reveal much other then the semi-confirmed rumors out there, but I assume everybody likes pretty pictures.

Lol... I don't think a legit slide is going to use Horsepower for the TDP...

Why the 365 watt. Surely they meant 375 watt. It may well be fake.

600MHz for core and 3400MHz for the memory.

If the specs turn out to be true it looks that it will be slower than 6990.

Anyway, its less than a week until we know for sure.

If that is true about it being on slightly louder than the GTX580, it will be a huge win for them. I would have expected it to be hotter and louder than the 6990.

Yeah, if it's only slightly louder than a 580 it will be an amazing feat. The problem I'm seeing with these cards is the price/performance. At 600ish mhz, if that is infact their speed, they will most certainly be slower than the 6990 and I don't see any way possible that Nvidia will charge less than what AMD will be charging for the 6990.

It's going to be interesting to see the discussions between camps when Nvidia has the cooler/quieter card and AMD has the faster/louder/more power hungry card. I foresee a lot of people changing their tune compared to what they were saying this time last year.

One of the big things will be if the core clock is 600, then can we overclock it and by how much. I can understand there reasons to keep inside the PCI-e specs. Although I just wish they would go all out and break them.

Also by how much will the temps rise. It's ok if the stock clocks are 600 if it can be clocked to 772 like the 580 and then the performance will be good. If the chips are indeed hand picked then that may well eventuate.

As long as its doable to clock it to 580 speeds with no problems and default cooling I'll be happy!

That's the thing, if they are clocked at 600 on the core, but can overclock to 580 levels all is good. I do realise that will use a lot more power and this means heat. Maybe this is what Nvidia had to do to keep it in the PCI-e specs.
