Apple should be treated the same way
I don't remember MS getting sued for bundling their software into their own OS. Must have missed that one.

It happens all the time. Notice how in europe they had to make available an N version of windows that doesn't include media player, or else they would face anti-trust fines. And then worst of all it didn't sell any copies because nobody wanted it, but they still had to make it available anyways. In other words they are forced to pay money to make a product available that nobody wants.

Six MS got screwed hugely for putting Internet explorer in windows. They get attacked all the time for all of this while the underdogs like apple get away with anything. Really messed up

That is pretty nuts. But again, it's not like people can't go online and download it. If Apple was treated the same way, they would just make it available online for everyone to download.

Yea they considered bundling it with windows a market monopoly. So lame, if you make the mist popular os on the market you should be able to make your Internet browser default

Did you really miss all that Six? It's happened with every OS release since XP more or less.

The Windows Live programs were what everyone started freaking out about. That's why they're a separate download now too. I think MSE is the same way, even though it replaces Defender, which was bundled with Vista.

Can you imagine the uproar if MSE was bundled? Monopoly!

Funny thing about MSE. Microsoft wanted to make it available as "Optional" status on windows update, but only if it detected that no antivirus software was installed.

There was a resulting sh*tstorm, so they took it off. Pretty neat eh?

EDIT: Was actually optional status.

Ridiculous. The way these companies act, it's like biting the hand that feeds you. You can see why Apple likes to keep things close to their chests.

Someone should sue Toshiba for having 3 month trials of Trend pre-installed on most of their laptops. I buy a Toshiba, I'm forced to uninstall something I don't want or want to pay for. At least MSE is free and stays that way.
