I'd like to install this, but it's a pain to unmask all of the packages require to install this. Have to wait a little bit and hope someone updates the repository so this can be installed.
EDIT: Used autounmask to get the needed packages available for install. Got it all compiled now and running. |

I really like Chrome, but I seem to have an issue with it on several machines....I may have to give this a spin.
Flash videos, like those shown on Youtube and various news sites, sometimes just show a black square and never start. A refresh is needed and sometimes that doesn't even work. On a website my son goes to for kids flash games, it happens frequently. I got so frustrated on the Windows XP PC he was using with Chrome, I cut and pasted the link into IE8, which worked perfectly. ![]() |

I have used Firefox, since before it was Mozilla! But I'm not too enthusiastic about FF4. Having dialup, you can tell a HUGE difference.
With FF4, you have to sit and wait for ads and pics to load before you can even view the text/article/pages. With Chrome, it loads the text first, then begins loading ads/pics. This way, I can start reading, while it loads. If Mozilla can fix this, I might switch back, but for now, Chrome is my browser of choice.

Who uses dialup these days?
![]() That must take you an entire evening just to download the browser itself. |

Sooooooo. 2 minutes ago firefox was using 500k of memory with 1 tab open, and it was nvnews.
While scanning Kaspersky was at 450k, but just saying that, because that caused my machine to lag tons. Anyways, this thing idles at 100K. WTF? The longer you use it, the higher memory it uses. Its up to 115k now. What is up with this thing??? Here it is. RIGHT after I took that picture, this happened: |

Looking at this thread in IE9 with 1 tab open task manager says IE has 2 instances running. 1 is using 108,000k and the other is using 9,000k

Yap. That's the way it works. It opens each tab as an extra process to the main program, so if a tab crashes, only that tab crashes. Chrome does the same, firefox is old and a slug. I know they are non profit, but they are really falling behind. :

I use FF4 in Linux and IE9 in Windows and FF is not that slugish... in fact, FF4 does media content rendering in a correct fashion, while IE9 still chokes a bit at it (have you tried to load YouTube and go to someone's page, load that person's videos in grid mode and scroll down? PFFFFFFF).
Both are awesome so... fair enough ![]() |

I thought I would make a little experiment this week: Only use FF4 on all machines for one week and get a real good impress of it. So far so good. Once FF is loaded up and running, it runs just as fast as Chrome for me. Flash also loads and plays better in FF4 than Chrome, but I'm not sure if it's my FlashBlock or what.
