I'm having fun with this one. It has more of a video game feel I guess I could say. First game was a tech demo with a Sandboxish game attached. It was fun and always a blast to replay every upgrade. This one I've just set it to Extreme at 1080p and it's running really well. (260GTX SLI). It's definitely a different game. Better gameplay, perhaps dirtier and cheaper effects, but they do mimic the previous games effects like object motion blur etc. I can understand people feel ripped off about the price. I grabbed my copy for 30AUD with a rewards voucher from Game. It's not 1 day one play (no game is if you have others that have your attention) but it's a lot better than the general uninformed feedback says. My advice, wait for the Limited Edition to pass, the price will drop 10-20 like Dead Space 2 did and get it then.

I want to get this game and I want to like... err love this game like I loved the hell out of Half Life 2. At the time I purchased HL2 and Doom 3 and what a piece of crap Doom 3 was, man that game was terrible, it really was overrated. The whole in-door environments, the story, everything about it sucked. The guns were also really lame! sounded tinny and were boring, i know it was supposed to be a Doom remake but come on they could of pushed the boundaries a bit more than they did!. Anyway now i am ranting, oops. Back to Crysis 2, well I loved Far Cry 1 until the part where you met the monster things then it went lame and was not open mapped anymore. Then came Crysis and well that wasn't much better, again it went weird with the aliens but it was still more fun than Far Cry overall. But Crysis 2, well the graphics are now dumbed down because of the consoles and I just don't see how the story could pull me in like Half Life 2 did. If the DX 11 patch was out then I would be more keen, just to put my 580GTX to work... lol
When will some damn games come out that make use of our video cards!!!

Well look what happened with Crysis. It used our hardwares and then some and people today still complain about it being badly coded. Tough crowds.
Though you didn't seem like any game in the 'Cry' series, why would you think they'd really break the mould now? All I can say is, graphics aside, Crysis 2 is the better game. If all you care about is graphics then I'd give this one a miss and wait for Battlefield 3 or Rage maybe? |

Looks like i'm the only one looking forward to it then. From what i've seen the gameplay has far more going for it than the first. Infact, I thought Crysis 1 was pretty rubbish. Good tech demo, not much else.
How will Crysis 2 run on my rig, considering i've only got 1 570 in atm?

Graphics wise on this game, its definitely not anywhere near crysis 1. But it does run very well and yet manages to deliver awesome framerate. Then again, probably because its been dumbed down so consoles could also run it. :/

Why cant you play it below 60 fps? anyway a 570 should handle it on 1920x1080 at high settings just fine. Not the highest, but it looks good enough. You can use them console commands to tweak it here and there.
