Forget about piracy for a minute and know this..Crysis 2 won't do so well because people won't buy a bad game, (or a game that is not what is hould have been). |

Nice to know that when I do finally buy this it will have dx11 available.
Personally, I can't fault the devs for going where the money is. No money = less to invest on the next title. My main complaint is with the pricing, petty as that may be. $39 or $49 is less a sore spot, and I think would make up for in volume rather than price per unit. I'll wind up buying this, but like Redeemed, after it drops to a more "reasonable" pricepoint. |

Like the vast majority of you, I have all my software legal. If there's something I don't like from reviews or a demo or whatever the method to test that is... I don't buy it. End of the story. And about MP, yeah... although I can't really make an opinion in that front, as I rarely do MP, except for Half-Life 2 and not now as I don't have a gaming-able PC right now. But I agree... and hey, that's a good thing. One copy, one network key. Sounds fair enough ![]() |

Ideally they'd have two dev team- a larger one devoted to a DX9/console version and a smaller one devoted to the DX11 version. I see no need for DX10 as it's now irrelevant since we have DX11. Don't have a DX10 card? Enjoy the amazing framerates from the DX9 version untill you can get a DX11 capable card. And now days, with how cheap they are (Radeon HD5770, Radeon HD 6800 series, GTX460, GTX560ti) there's almost no excuse to not own one. By the developers doing this we'd get a proper "from-the-ground-up" DX11 PC version, and the DX9/console version would be easy enough to port over to PC. However having such a large number devs is expensive so this almost never happens. Since BF3 is supposedly from the ground up a DX11/PC first title it'll be interesting to see how that pans out as they'll have to implement DX9 somewhere along the lines. Quote:

The upon release we find out they weren't lying and so many pc gamers bitched and whined and moaned and cried like a bunch of babies it was disgusting. So this time Crytek opts for a heavily optimised Crysis 2 and once again the PC community bitches, whines, moans, and cries like little babies because it isn't stressing our top-dollar rigs like the first one did. The PC community needs to make up it's collective mind. First they criticize Crytek cause in truth Crysis was just too demanding for the hardware available at the time yet the gamers claimed it was just "unoptimized". Now Crytek makes Crysis 2 very optimise and the gamers scream "it's not the graphics and physics show case Crysis 1 was! WAAAAAH!" So frikken annoying. The one thing I'm beginning to love about the console crowd is in general I notice a lot less bitching and whining. ![]() |

Crytek must have made a lot of money from Crysis and Far Cry in the first place, otherwise they wouldn't have spend 4 years on making Crysis 2 multi platform.
Crytek a lot of money on the PC, like a lot of big developers but it's all about making more and more, not just being happy with good sales. |

The 285 is a based on the 280 tech which came out in June 2008. 2 years 9 months. I win.
In fact, the 280 was an update (ok a fairly large one) to the 8800 series from November 2006.

Like grey_1 and other people, I'm not going to pay $60 for a game. I'll get it when it's less pricey. But that doesn't make me going like 'they deserve for the game to be pirated' and crap like that... If you don't like something, don't buy it or don't play it, but why talking about piracy? It's not only very incorrect, politically speaking, but also the perfect excuse developers are looking for to migrate to the console world or just deliver games with poor content or just not delivering the full experience for a given game (like, for example, the absence of many DLCs from AAA titles like Dead Space 2 or Bioshock 2 or many others, just to name a few). So, like I said, yeah... keep up the good work |

"I am pissed because Crytek/EA have based a game on console hardware that uses a 7 year old API instead of the nice new fresh DX11 API or the slightly older DX10 API which they promised us". Hope that clears things up for you m8 ![]() |
