I'm guessing he means months. Possibly scheduled patch releases for the pc version? Have no idea, but that tweet sounds like they are still planning on adding to the game, maybe in substantial ways.

Umm... do you mean $16,000,000 = 16ms? Or 16 miliseconds = 16ms? If the former, that's a huge budget. If the later... still dun get it.

This makes sense... but I don't like the idea of it taking one and a third years just to get this patch out. If it takes that long, it better look freaking amazing and utilize DX11 very well, while fixing a boat load of bugs in the PC version. Heck, 16 months is half the time most games are in development now days.

Regardless, I do agree that it sounds promising.

Read through that article, several places the term "ms" is used to describe the "cost" (performance hit) of certain effects.

You're running old hardware and are complaining about Crysis 2's current visuals. A game that looks stunning overall, even though it's only a DX9 game without POM or awesome water effects. Still it runs great on your old hardware! I'm really pleased that I can play this game on my GTX 280 rig with no issues. If the game would provide better visuals, we wouldn't be able to play it with our old systems...

Like I said in the other thread, Crysis 1 was a visual revolution, Crysis 2 is a performance/optimization revolution. This can be a really, really good thing for upcoming PC version of CryEngine 3 games
Not true!

Crysis 2 performs better because it is less demanding.

Yeah and Crysis 1 was released dual-core optimised not multi-core.

Thanks - I have to admit I don't understand exactly what's what, but that does clarify a lot.

FYI - you could fit what I know about game development in about one paragraph.

Very shady work once again nvidia.

According to the rumour mentioned in the title, the money NVidia paid to EA was not for marketing, but to delay the support for DirectX 11 in Crysis 2, so that players would have access to their graphics card when DirectX 11 ‘s support was released. The rumour also says that DirectX 11 will only support GTX 590 in Crysis 2.

Probably, but they did do the same thing for batman.

Even if it is true I can't imagine that it would take the community more than a couple of hours to release details on how to enable it on all cards.
