I have a 24" asus monitor with dvi inputs and a 19"proview with vga input(so I use the adapter,dvi/vga)Windows XP refuses to find the second monitor.I tried the option of extend desktop but it does nothing.I tried nvidia control panel but there is no option to set up multiple displays and only a picture of my asus is in the menu,it does not show the proview. Is it possible to do what I am trying to do? The funny thing is win7 found it no troubles, all I had to do was select extend my desktop option and it worked.I have a few programs and games I prefer to use on winxp so I do use it quite often would be nice to get this sorted.
My 8800's have 2 dvi outputs each,I have tried all the connectors and it seems a no-go for xp.Funny thing with win7 is it doesnt matter where I plug the monitors in they always can be configured easily.......

update drivers?
If it works under win7, then the hardware is good. It can only be a software issue Technically, you should see the extra monitor in your display panel in winXP almost as soon as you plug it in. Select it and choose extend desktop You may also have to select the current refresh rate.
