Geforce GT 555m Supported

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post or if the question is answered elsewhere.

Does anyone know if the Geforce GT 555m will be supported under Linux and, if so, when? I have searched everywhere I can think of and I don't see it listed in the latest linux drivers or beta releases. The notebook in question is an Dell XPS 17.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Given that according to Dell's website the Notebook uses Optimus, the answer is likely "No!".

The 555m might even be supported already, but that is of no help when Optimus is in the game.

about Dell XPS 17 there are two kind of 555m one with and without 3D support.

Unofficially GT555M is supported by current beta drivers.

I was going to get an ASUS notebook with a 2Gb GT550M but I don't want to spend that much on a nice video card that I can't use. Anyone know of any notebook with a GT550M or GT555M without Optimus?

support the linux open source implementation of hybrid gpu solution on notebook.
