I've considered going back to water cooling and the obsidians seem to be built specifically for it.

I would be also getting a mac daddy dual xeon (EVGA SR-2) board if I ever did overhaul my system but it would most likely be some insane $2000 project... that's what scares me.

I'm glad they just released their obsidian 650 though. Looks like it struck a good balance between the massive 700/800 size and the smaller 600.

not sure if the SR2 would fit into that though.

there is also Element G (gamer)

Silverstone and Lian-Li are simply the top of the line, there is nothing better. Silverstone is usually overpriced for what you get. Lian-Li (avoid Lancool, Lian-Li cheaper "consumer" brand) simply the best.
I don't know....just never liked Lian Li.

yap, that is the only thing that case is good for. if your system is even slightly on air, stay away.

yeah the 470's are a like a hurricane and produce epic amounts of heat.

I'm considering a pair of waterblocks for them and getting one of the black ice dual 120mm radiators but my case has no where for the rad to go so it'd have to sit loosely on top of the case or something.

I've still got my swiftech pump though and their waterblock which I'm sure i'd have to find i7 mounting hardware to use... or cough up $75+ for a new cpu block.

it's one of those slippery slopes that starts off innocently and just snowballs out of control.

I'm no longer doing stuff half assed so if I did do that, I'd get a new case to do it all legit and that's another $200 on top of the cost of the blocks, radiator(s), tubing, cpu block, etc...
