Where are people getting the idea only DX9 made people not enjoy the game? This is where people get twisted. People still enjoyed the game but the fact that it only came with DX9 shocked a lot of people. Having DX11 out of the box would have enhanced the experience.

This will mean more sales of Crysis 2 by PC gamers and Crytek known it. People whined about a lot of things, not just the DX version and quiet rightly too.

They could only support DX8 for all I care. I'd just like the game not to have the glitches that it does have, whatever the DX version is. For example, the shadows are horribly messed up in this game and I doubt DX11 is the solution to that problem.

Clearly you care because you brought a GTX580. People who said they can don't care about DX11 are liars and they know it.

People don't buy enthusiasts' cards for gameplay.

I don't have any plans to buy any games immediately soon. I am hoping to pick up several titles towards the end of this year when I do my over haul of my rig. Crysis 2 will be one of them. Should be considerably cheaper (on sale) and it'll have at least this patch by then. Think I'll be far happier waiting and purchasing the fully patched game for less than I would if I bought it on launch.

Good news though- this patch.

Rumours are that NVIDIA paid Crytek two million for the DX11 support. We can thank NVIDIA and not Crytek for this. I have trouble believing they are doing this out of the goodness of their own heart.
