I had an EVGA GeForce GTX 275 that went bad a few months ago, so I RMA'd it back to EVGA, they sent me out a replacement 275. So the second 275 just went out on my again and I complained to EVGA and they upgraded me to a GTX 465. In some ways it seems to be inferior to the 275 but overall a little better. Do you guys think the GTX 465 is better than 275? I'm getting the vanilla 465 but at least it's the one with 1GB of GDDR5 RAM. It's this one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130555 How good is this one?
I've read that you can do a BIOS flash to update it so that it will have full functionality of a 470, provided it has all the memory units. Can someone tell me how to tell if my 465 is flashable to a 470 and where do I find the 470 and how do I do it. I'm not a noob, but I've never flashed something to a different component. Thanks in advance!

It should be faster then the GTX 275.If it has all the memory chips on it and does'nt have two missing then there a chance that it will flash to a GTX 470.But it also a chance you could brick the card.

I'll be upgrading my whole system next year and I'll have around $350 to play around with for the video card so I'll be getting a 670 I guess. I have $1000 altogether to spend so I'll have a very nice system. What I'm really waiting for is Battlefield 3! I'll have to run it on the 465 until tax time next year when I can upgrade, but I figure I can run BF3 no less than medium settings and probably a mixture of high/medium. I can't wait for BF3!!!
