They got a lot of personal info and possibly CC#s. If you have a stored CC you might want to consider canceling it. I am so glad I use Virtual CC#s.

The only real issue I have with Sony is how long it took them to notify us about the breach and how much info was taken. We should have been notified within 24hours anything longer is unacceptable.

Yeah that's really the only thing that upset me, I would also like to know how they were attacked. Was it a backend attack or directly through the means we communicate with the network.

Yup. That is the part that pisses me off. Almost a WEEK after PSN went down, they FINALLY say, "Oh yeah, you MAY need to change your information and watch for credit card fraud." Ridiculous. This really pisses me off.

Were the only information stolen according to Sony UK. Atleast they are now stating that CC Info was most likely not compromised. So change your passwords and you "should" be safe... unless they come out and state that CC info was actually stolen.

Gotta wait for it to go live again this week and then just log into playstation.com. Thankfully my email and psn account passwords are drastically different as is the website password for my CC.

Wow. I don't mind the week of downtime, netflix still works. But let's be serious, the hackers probably stole cc info. I have mine on there and I'm pretty scared now.

i don't have a problem with people "hacking" their PS3 and other devices, its their device, what they do with it that is another story.

there are little scum bag kids(i'm sure you know who i'm talking about) on this and other forums that hack 360 to play pirates games, that I do have a problem with.

But then again thanks to hacked xbox (original), we have xbmc (and bunch of other programs that were made cloned from it, like boxee, mediaportal, plex and bunch of others) If xbox was never "hacked" those programs might have not appeared or much much later.

and then from customer point of view, ps3 was sold/advertised with otheros and backwards compatibility, removing those things later is also not fair to the customers.
