Asrock used to be under Asus, now they are an independent company. Incidentally, they are the 3rd largest mobo manufacturer in the world, surpassing even MSI. Google it up It doesn't mean they produce cheap and worthless boards, it means they produce affordable and amazing boards. Look at tomshardware's review of High End P67 Express: Five 200-250 motherboards

I've built 9 PCs using ASRock's M3A770DE. It's a rock solid, awesome board. I originally bought the first one because the dude I was building a PC for was on a wicked low budget (I'm talking $300-350). But since then I've been using it even for $600-700 builds.
