I gave this new vdpau implementation a try but unfortunately it breaks fast forward & rewind in VDR. Other then that it seems ok.

Hi crisalide,

thank you so much for this new vdpau h264 decoder!
It is such an improvement!

@ primerib:
fast forward & rewind works perfectly for me (vdr 1.7.18).

What output plugin are you using? I'm using vdr-xine-0.9.4 here.

I am using vdr-xine-0.9.4 too.
Is the problem with recordings taken with vdr 1.7.18 or with elder recordings? For elder recordings you have to rebuild the index and adapt info.

Recordings are created with vdr-1.7.18 and the problem is very similar to one that required a fix to vdr-xine by Rnissl. Ghost frames are present, when ffw/rew and then play -> does not play from the current position but rather from the position where you first pressed ffw/rew, etc.

I suspect this problem is within vdr-xine as the symptoms are practically identical as before with the 'current' vdpau.

hi,

i also use vdr-1.7.18 with vdr-xine-0.9.4 as the output plugin. following xinelib snapshot including some enhancements by developer "durchflieger" is in use: http://projects.vdr-developer.org/gi...u-h264-decoder

there are no problems with FFW/REW. it's working nearly perfect now.

Are you viewing interlaced or progressive h264 content? I know at least 2 other people who have these problems so if what you've said is true, there must be some condition that causes them to surface. I personally observe this with interlaced h264 content. I have not tried mpeg2 content.

I am not sure, if this makes a difference, but you could try
engine.decoder.disable_flush_at_discontinuity:1
engine.decoder.disable_flush_from_video_out:1

I had one of those settings already and set the other that wasn't. That fixed the problem with the exception of corrupted frames every few frames. Will have to look more into that.
