The only game listed on this page that i'm the slightest bit interested in playing is Crysis, which i have played many times. If i wanted to play anything that wasn't 1st person i would dust off my Sinclair Spectrum!

It's terribly sad that I own both Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 and cannot enjoy them because of the whole 3rd person thing. They were gifts, but I've only played a little of either one because the immersion factor totally drops out on me.

So I guess the people who hate 3rd person games don't enjoy watching movies or tv then...

It all comes to a matter of taste, although I think it's too extreme to think like that... in fact, it's extremely flawed, but well... to each his/her own

Poor assumption. You don't control characters in a TV show or movie, you sit and watch them. Apparently the concept of personal immersion is not something you thought of? Movies or TV have no form of it, you watch a story unfold and have not a part of it except as observer.

Ever think that is what many 3rd person games are aiming for? You just play the game in many 3rd person games and experience the story as an observer/3rd party.

Not an easy thought when the observer is directly controlling the observed. That is NOT immersion, that is playing with toys, an animated action figure, or digital doll. All I get out of it is "lets dress up this digital doll in space stuff and make it shoot space things!". Doesn't work for me at all.
