Just an update on my freezing with my ASUS P8P67 Deluxe. I have been doing a lot of research regarding this problem. Some people on the net have suggested increasing voltage slightly, manually setting mem speed and timings etc. It seems to work for some people but I have also heard from the same people reporting that the freezing has still occured but it is much less frequent. In any case I am not so conviced that this board is all that stable. I bought Corsair Vengance memory as its listed as supported on both Corsairs and ASUS's website, I know memory compatible problems can really wreck havoc so made sure I went for supported memory so its disapointing that I and so many are having issues.
In my case my board was a non B3 revision and a very early version of BIOS, maybe it had something to do with that? As you all know I RMA'd it and I have a B3 with a fairly late version of the BIOS I think 1305. Anyway touch wood I have not had a freeze since, I have set my memory to 1600mhz but I have left the timings to auto. To anyone else with this issue, I would recommend manually setting your RAM speeds and timings first. If that doesn't work then a BIOS flash. I def don't think increasing the RAM voltage should be required, the P67 sandy bridge is designed for 1.5v so it should run at that (esp for a non OC'd rigs like mine). I like ASUS boards but I feel they let themselves down in a lot of areas, for example when I had this issue I went onto their website and looked at all the BIOS updates for my motheboard but there descriptions are sh*t to put it blunt. Eg the latest BIOS update description says 'improves compatibility' ok so that means what? memory/CPU/devices??? and when you email support no replys. Very frustrating. I still like ASUS boards but this latest upgrade has been a frustrating one!
