After loading Redhat 9.0 my computer displays a black screen. I can access the root directory by hitting CRTL-ALT-BACKSPACE and I have downloaded an updated driver for the video card (Nvidia-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg1.run) but have no previous Linux experience and do not understand the terminology used to load the driver.

The README explains well how to install the NVIDIA drivers.I run the NVIDIA driver by typing in the directory in which the installer is located "sh NVIDIA*". The installer runs through the steps. You will also have to modify the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file as explained in the README file.
