Hello,
I just installed a new Quadro 4000 SDI in a linux box running the following versions: X Window System Version 7.1.1 Release Date: 12 May 2006 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 7.1.1 Build Operating System: Linux 2.6.18-53.el5 x86_64 Red Hat, Inc. Nvidia version: 260.19.44 (also tried 270.41.06) As soon as X Window starts the screen goes black. I've seen other threads regarding this but those users downgraded to 260.19.44 and solved the issue. This hasn't worked for us. I see our X Window system is out of date. Should I be trying to upgrade this? I haven't because we have well over 100 machines deployed and the primary software we use likes this configuration. Any suggestions? Thanks. |

Thanks for the reply. I was preparing to grab the log file but before I could our IT gurus had pulled the SDI card out, rebooted without it, configured X Window, shut down, put the SDI card back in and then all was good.
So, we had to configure the system without the SDI card installed before it would work. All fixed. |
