Update: this keyboard dock thingie is amazing stuff. I was skeptical about using it to type stuff but I have been posting on facebook and forums all day and it works like a charm. Its a bit of a tight fit though, so I am worried if constant taking off and on will damage the connectors.

If you are getting this tablet, get the dock too for sure. It makes such a difference to the experience, and has a very good wow factor. Also Asus posted on their facebook page that they are working on the HC 3.1 update that was shown at Google I/O

I picked up the Acer Icona A500, which as virtually everyone will tell you has a tft screen rather than the ips on the Asus. There are very few other differences,just like most other tablets coming out right now, there are very few big differences. Same amount of ram, same processor, same os.
The other minor differences is that while it has a seperate dock, it isn't being pushed like the asus. Also the Acer has both a micro and full usb port on it, while the Asus does not.

The Xoom, Galaxy Tab, Asus, Acer Icona, and one by Toshiba are all very similar.

Acer must be wondering what they did wrong. It has HoneyComb, 10.2" tft screen, almost same weight as the Asus, more ports than Asus, better build than Asus, same Tegra2 and what not. And reviews have been decent too.I think if they had sold it for 399 instead of 449, it would have received a lot more attention

I'm under the impression that Asus is just a better known brand than Acer, and the ips screen is a bit of a selling point. However from all the posts on different boards (as no sales numbers are availible) it seems as though the Acer is holding it's own against Asus. That being said without sales numbers, who really knows. Personally, I don't want a tablet with a keyboard. If I had wanted a tablet with a keyboard I likely would have got a netbook instead. Eitherway, pretty much all the honeycomb tablets are near identical, and even honeycomb with it's minor issues is quite nice. After having my acer for two weeks now, I'm still very happy with the purchase.

They are decently made tablets, with typically the only issue people complaining about is light bleeding around the screen.
