We haven't even rolled out Windows 7 yet.
![]() I honestly can see the reason for really bumping up the development cycle if they are looking at the tablet market. They could come in and basically wipe the floor with the ipad if all the tablets can run office. |

Accorded to Microsoft partner on Windows 8 schedule, the beta will begin in September 2011, Release Candidate in Q1 2012, Windows 8 x86, ARM and Server to hit RTM by April 2012 then retail before September 2012.

It's really crappy how Microsoft deactivates all previous versions of Windows when a new version comes out. Might as well throw out my Win7 Isos now. :
:You wish Microsoft would support one version of Windows for an extended time Six? 13 years of support for XP isn't good enough? Vista and 7 can probably expect similar treatment. 8 appears to be an incremental update aimed at media and mobile PC users. MS probably aims to run 7 and 8 alongside one another, only pushing an upgrade when the next major platform update comes along... |
