A sound card is a peripheral device that attaches to the ISA or PCI slot on a motherboard to enable the computer to input, process, and bear sound. It accredit the computer to output sound through speakers affiliated to the board and manipulate sound stored on a disk.

I just got two of the SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium HD sound cards pci express, They are alot better than my Xfi Fatality sound cards they replaced sound much better in games music movies, they are just as good as my Asus Xoner Essence STX a matter of fact.

My local dealer had them in stock so I popped down and brought one today. It's a very nice improvement.

Cool, glad you are liking the SB Titanium HD. I have just ordered one to replace my Xf-fi Fatality xtremegamer. Just wondering, how long is the optical TOSLINK cable that is supplied with the card?
This is what I will use to connect to my Logitech Z-680 speakers. I have heard its only a foot long which would be too short. I would need about 4 -5 feet.

If you're going to be using a high end sound card you'll want to use the analog ouputs from the sound card. The reason is because the Digital to analog converters in the sound card are going to be better than what the 680 has, and it allows the sound card full control of all of the speaker as well as more mixing options. One really nice setting on creative cards is the ability to do upmixing and take a 2 channel audio track and spread it out over all of the channels. The 680s can only do stereo x2 or dolby, which means either the center channel isn't doing anything, or the back speakers seem really weak.

My Titanium HD arrived today

I have not installed it yet will do that tomorrow but looking forward to getting it in my system.

Hey fasedww, just got the SB Titanium HD installed (also did a full format and reinstall of Windows 7, didn't want any kind of driver conflict from my old Fatality card). Damn I am amazed there really a is difference from my Fatality. I had that card for around 4 years so was use to the sound and the Titanium HD is a step up from that, I would say a pretty big step up and def a noticeable difference probably not a HUGE difference but a pretty damn big one and worth the cash. I have just tried listening to 320kps Mp3 listening so far. I using the optical cable to connect into my Z-680s. Looking forward to trying some games next!
