Yeah, I'm figuring on getting a socket 2011 and a compatible pair of 28nm high end graphic cards to go with it when the time comes. Be it ati or nvidia. Whichever performs the most efficient.

It's a PAIR of 6970M's, not one. That score looks perfect for Crossfire mobile chips. I'm having difficulty seeing the problem here. If it was just one GPU, I'd see the problem since a single 6970 should not beat a GTX 580 unless the 6970 is overclocked to high hell and back while the GTX 580 is pure stock speed. But with 2 mobile 6970s in Crossfire, that looks like a proper score to me.
