Actually from the E3 reports they are saying the exact opposite. The whole game is supposedly based around "slicing" things in a certain direction. In past Zeldas defeating enemies was all about button timings, but in this one it's all about using the sword and attacking enemies from a specific direction.

No the FF series has changed... while the basic premise is usually the same (save the world from a great threat) they have changed the battle systems and gameplay enough to make them feel different. I don't know how you can compare Final Fantasy to Zelda... Zelda uses the same weapons in every release and even has the same temples, just different layouts. Final Fantasy changes completely... Hell FFXIII sold poorly because people didn't like the changes.
You gotta be kidding me. The FF series is nearly a CARBON COPY every single time. Don't get me wrong, I love that series, but please. The battle system is practically the same every single game.

Sony and Microsoft must be LOL'ing hard at this...Shigeru Miyamoto has finally lost the plot. Sorry guys but this Nintendo crap has gone far too eastern and the hardware itself looks like something Fisher Price has developed.

Will wait for the TRUE next gen machines before making any purchases.

Really? The battle system is the same? So not controlling individual chacters in XII and using a smart script is the same as VII individual control? Or the fact that placement of the characters affected which enemy they could attack? Or how about the magic system is class bass and that characters can be developed to play completely different from each other while in VII every character is the same other then damage output and what materia they have equipped.

Even subtle changes like making the story not about the lead character have been done in the Final Fantasy series but in Zelda is ALWAYS the same thing, Same weapons and same temples. All they change is the layout and maybe the order you receive the weapons. And since wind waker they all seem to be mimicking the idea that you need to return to a central point multiple times in the story...

Yes every game has it staples that might not drastically change, Final Fantasy has its airships and the character CID. Or Zelda has Epona or Link/Zelda relationship but the Zelda series really has stopped trying and its not hard to see that. It would be so easy to change it up with a single switch... let us play as Zelda.

First of all. I will never play a Zelda game where the main character isn't Link. Especially if you'd have to play as Princess Zelda. That'd be just stupid.

I will admit that Twilight Princess was basically Ocarina of Time 2.0. But, honestly, I enjoyed both games so much, I could really care less. I guess I'm just not sick of them.

But Zelda II was vastly different from Zelda I (gameplay wise), and SNES Zelda was vastly different from them both, and Zelda OOT basically blew the roof off the series in terms of gameplay. After that, yeah it started getting repetitive, but again, I'm still loving the games, so why change it?

Why not make Zelda playable? They showed in OOT that she can be a combat based character? Heck they put her in SSB, why not in Zelda?

About a minute in and they mention their online plans and it doesn't look good. No centralized online service... every publisher/developer would have to create and support their own so it looks like multiple logins and friends list for the Wii U. No word on if friends codes are returning.

More win from Nintendo!

Not sure what you expected from Nintendo, honestly.

I just got done watching the Zelda "game" footage. Wow... the boss fight from OoT. Way to push the game forward, Nintendo.

I hate to break it to you nico, but people other than pencil dick nerds have an interest in playing video games. The general public does not give a **** that a game runs in 1080p or has "megatextures" or horse**** like that.

Example A: I dated a girl a few months ago (something you ought to try sometime), and she had a Wii at her apartment. She asked me if I wanted to play a game and I said sure, so she popped in "Michael Jackson Dance Moves." From a technical standpoint, it was a very badly designed game with low production values, but you know what? It was a lot of fun because I was interacting with A GIRL as opposed to beating off to porn like most ElIT3 pC G4M4R$$$ do.

That is the value of systems like the Wii and the WiiU. They provide an option to people who don't want to sit in front of a display monitor for eight hours hardcore and play the latest "God of War" title.
Zelda, I am definitely not a videogame geek and happen to be married. You just confirmed my suspicions. The games out for the Wii are craptastic entries like Michael Jackson Dance . Thus, although it is a commercial success (although if you look at Nintendo's profits last year they were awful), the Wii is a wonder for boys, girls and soccer moms. An average PC gamer laughs at the toy that is the Wii. At least the PS3 and XB360 can stream HD movies and more integrated into a home theater setting. Whatever, you go play with your Wii and Ken dolls and real gamers will rejoice in the far superior other systems.

As for the WiiU, good luck with that. Let's see if it is really as big a commercial success as you predict. Time will tell.

Nintendo profits dropped 66 percent. Why do you think they are rushing out this cheap, barely 2009 hardware device? Profits are king. We shall see if the fish bite.

Ok, ladies, I just deleted all of the posts that didn't even pertain to the subject matter. No more warnings. Next time, I will be handing out vacations. And some will be longer than others.
