Hey everyone, I tried doing a bunch of research on what card to get but I give up and I'm just gonna ask here.
![]() I built my system. Has an asus p52 deluxe mobo, intel 3.16 ghz processor, 4 gb ocz ddr2 ram. My former gpu was an evga 8800 gt. It was working fine and then died, upon inspection the heatsink vents were clogged with cat hair/dust and it toasted itself. I liked that card, it played BFBC2 pretty well and did what I needed it to. Now, I would like to upgrade my motherboard, screen, and processor in the future but for now I just need a graphics card that is similar in performance or better than my 8800 that is around $100-$150. My max resolution at the moment is 1650x1080, samsung 2253bw. Thanks for your guys help. |

I would go for a GTX 560 or if you can spend a little extra get the 560ti.

gtx 560 is out of his budget.
Best card for your budget will be a Radeon HD 6850, or a 6770 on the low end of your budget. 6770: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102937 6850: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150516 |

I'm confused why some of the GTX550's are cheaper than the GTX450's....Also, I am brand loyal to the Nvidia chipset so I'm going to stick with that. I could push it up to $200 if I had to, but I want something as good as my 8800GT, it really doesn't need to be any better. I'll just buy a kick ass GPU in a year or two when I replace my mobo.

I just upgraded my SLI 8800 GTSes to a GTX 460:
http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-PCI-Expre...7989084&sr=8-3 Well not that exactly, I got the super-clocked version (01G-P3-1372-TR) without the lifetime warranty. An excellent upgrade. $139.99 with the rebate
