DNF Review Dust Up

Ars Technica http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2...ve-reviews.ars
has a screenshot of a since-deleted tweet from PR firm The Redner Group with an overt threat about negative reviews of Duke Nukem Forever, saying: "#AlwaysBetOnDuke too many went too far with their reviews...we r reviewing who gets games next time and who doesn't based on today's venom." A follow-up tweet backs off from this and apologizes: "I have to apologize to the community. I acted out of pure emotion. I will be sending each of you a private apology." A pair of subsequent tweets stress that this was Redner acting on its own, and that "2K had nothing to do with this." As of this writing the Metacritic scores for the first-person shooter sequel are 57 for the PC edition, 56 for the Xbox 360 edition, and 48 for the PlayStation 3 edition.

Yup just like the old game with a little better graphics. Still a nice brake from the Military shooters.

This is the game I started online gaming with back in the late 90's so I had to get it. Still own all the originals too.

Any way to slow down the crazy high sensitivity for the mouse? 1 is still not low enough, lol. How did you get it running on 3 screens as well? Resolution only allows me to go to 1920 x 1080
It's a good thing to get a mouse that has profiles to set. This way sensitivity can be set on the fly independent of the game. Then there will be no further issues that you speak of in any game. The Logitech G9x is one example of a mouse that can do this (there are others).

Finished the game. While the graphics are outdated, and old Duke's personality is really a bit too corn ball for me, I found the game better than I expected (I didn't expect much). Can't quite figure out how this game is #1 in the UK though. Those dudes must really be easy to please. Sounds like that rating was probably taken from a lot of teenagers who would rate it number 1 just because Duke pisses in the game. Hard for me to take that rating seriously.

A lot of things could have been done in the voice acting area (definitely including Duke who came off more like a Dirk) which would have really improved the game. Lots of game makers spend a lot of time and effort in the voice acting area. It's pretty apparent this one didn't.

The game played well and loaded quickly with no crashes. All in all, for me it was ok. That means it will stay on my computer to play some more, which is saying something. If I don't like a game, it won't stay on my computer very long.

I'd break something if I paid $50 for that.

DNF is definitely a bargain bin purchase for me down the road. I can't justify spending $50 on it atm...

For a second I thought the vid was for the original Duke Nukem.
