Default Phenom II X3 740 to Phenom II X6 1100T Upgrade

I am considering this upgrade, what are your thoughts.

I also have given some though to the 1090T after all its only 100mhz slower and $30 cheaper...

I do play games, and encode videos.

Thanks,

K

The X3 should be good enough for Games but media encoding then the 6 core will provide a massive boost. I think it is a fantastic processor for the money I have only found 2 games that support 6 treads DIRT 2 and Supreme commander. If you overclock to then the X6 as they are pretty easy to overclock

The benefit provided by those extra 100MHz would be negligible for gaming, and about video encoding, about the same. Save those $30 for going out or a new game to enjoy that upgrade

Agreed, the 1090T is an overclocking moster you won't really notice the diffrence from the 1100T or the 1090T.
