Finally!! I didn't play too far into the game yet.

The problem with this though is that I'm knee deep into the Witcher 1 and witcher 2 will most certainly come right after that...

So it'll have to wait for a while regardless.

Have they relased the developers kit for the game yet so people can start doing their own maps?

No game has shown much of an improvement when enabling DX10/DX11 VS DX9. Not unless the DX9 modes were nerfed like Crysis1 was.

Besides, it's not like Crysis2 was ugly to begin with. It is quite possibly the best looking DX9 'corridor' shooter out.

Just brought it half off. Wow was everyone right about this game being a real big step back visually. Loads of ugly, ugly textures everywhere.

I love this bit in the Geforce.com article

Quote:
Because of the level of work required to ensure that all three versions of the game were equally as good, Crytek ultimately ran out of development time, preventing them from implementing planned DirectX 11 features before launch
LO F'ing L

Also, FWIW, I bitched about lack of shadow penumbra back with the first crysis. I didn't know that's actually what it's called but that was always a major buzz kill for me. so much so, I run shadow texture size in the first game at a low resolution. Glad someone at crytek caught on.

Those real time local reflections and shadow reflections have got my drooling. I was really disappointed in how much plain old global reflection maps were used, it felt like I had jumped back to Mirror's edge.

Btw if you arnt having much luck speed wise with the direct downloads, gamers hell has up torrents for all 3 files. Atm all 3 are running at 755kbytes/sec combined which is descent.
