Default Need For Speed

I recently purchased the New Need For Speed and played it and loved it.
When i played it on my older brothers computer he had the ability to choose motion blur and head lights and light trails. Why am i not able too. Is it that the Geforce 2 Mx isn't good enough or that my AMD Althon 750 isn't.

Your video card. I believe it needs a dx8 compatible card for those effects (g4ti and above)

A little from column A, a little from column B...but mostly column A. Save yourself up $80 and pick up a GeForce4 Ti4200...or save even more money and upgrade the works.

GeForce 3 and above. I get all the effects with my GF3 Ti-200 (overclocked), and I can run at max detail.

I don't understand why you want motion blur anyways, it's way too distracting. I crash like 50 times more when it's on, with it off I almost never crash.

the motion blur represents reality . when you drive at high speeds you barly feel whats around you & whats happening next to you & the view looks blury to your eyes because they'r more foucesd on the road ahead of you .

i had that experiance when i drove at 130mph+ once.

the only thing that is sooo unrealistic about that motion blur is this...

load up nfs u, and just sit on the road. thats right, let the other cars race, just stay there going 0 miles per hour. now hit the nos button. the world becomes blurry, but yet you are not moving...

Motion blur is a flaw of camera technology, there is no reason to enable it, other than to emulate that camera look. Personally, I think it makes games on a TV look a bit more realistic, but it looks like crap on a PC monitor. You can't use those effects along with FSAA, which I think is much more important.
