RemoteFX look promising, improved on W2k8 RDP
I could use the new Portable Workspace at my client sites.
Native PDF reader, (so i can get rid of the constant Adobe reader updates).
Native ISO mounting
Facial recognition login (If it works better than Kinect's)

For the rest I do not care or want (Metro, Cloud, Ribbons...)

I've not heard anything about these, but love the sounds of them. The native ISO mounting, does that mean I can make an ISO of a DVD or CD, then mount it so I'd never have to use the physical disc? Would be great for all of my non-steam games.

would only work if you used cracks, game cds/dvds are usually copy protected, can't make 1:1 copy that will work image unless you use mouting engine that emulates copy protection, there is one, but that one screws with your sata/ide ports and can damage your optical drives, really not worth it.

For a second there I was thinking you could already do that... There was a tool for XP to do that, but what I was thinking of was .VHD files. You can mount any Virtual PC volumes directly in Windows 7.

wasn't there some brouhaha also about windows 8 being able to connect with xbox live users? Using a win8 pc to game with 360 gamers?

If they ever manage to pull that one off, I'd upgrade in a heartbeat.

windows 8 will have build in xbox live system (aka games for windows system). if it does work it will only work with windows live enabled games, that no one wants.

Unless it's bundled with an essential service you should be able to disable it.
