Youtube and vdpau still gives trouble, NVRM: Xid (0000:01:00): 8, Channel 00000001

I was trying to watch a video on youtube with firefox and abobe flash:

Sandypt suggested me to try 280.04 drivers here

It corrects the issue with popup menu, but the pain remains somehow and xorg just freezed.

After some minute i was able to refresh the firefox page.

This time the only way to rescue the system was to ssh it from remote and kill X by -9

This is a known issue and it's why Adobe has disabled vdpau usage in Flash by default. You must also do so or you'll continue to have this problem. To disable flash vdpau acceleration, remove the /etc/adobe/mms.cfg file.
