Yea I have seen a lot of people complaining about OSX Lion. They all seem to be patchable problems though.

So how is apple's new SMB implementation perform? I can saturate a gig link between vista or higher boxes, but at best with linux it would hit 30%, and I don't think my mac could even do that.

Just pulled the trigger. Now waiting throughout the slow downloading process. It's safe to say that I'll be up and running tomorrow more than likely.

Agreed. I figured that after two weeks, Lion would've downloaded faster. Here is my progress after 30-45 minutes:
