I have SuSE linux 8.1 and will probably be upgrading in the near future. I have a geforce3 card with 64 megs of onboard memory and it's working very well with the SuSE Nvidia RPMs. I get full 3D acceleration with it. However, if I upgrade will the already installed 3D accelerated drivers still work, or will I have to get new ones? If I have to get new drivers... does anyone have any experience as to how they work with the latest SuSE linux version?
I am fairly happy with my setup now... and if there's any risk in upgrading (3D being lost ), I probably won't. -Any help would be greatly apreciated. ![]()

No, the installed drivers will not work, however the drivers do (reportedly.. I don't have Suse) work with 9. Some risk of breaking things is always present, but probably low. Search the forum for Suse references recently to assure yourself. You just need to install them again after you upgrade.

The 4620 nvidia drivers work fine with Suse 9 and the updated kernel, i've tested it mayself and it's rocking.
