Question Is this card compatible with Debian Linux?

I'm building a computer and I was wanting to know this card is compatible with linux.

Its a Gainward 256MB DDR AGP 8X Video Card with nVidia's GeForce FX 5600 3D Chip

Since its based off of nVidia hardware i think it may work with linux, but im not entirely sure.

Before i go out buying a graphics card i want to be positive. I'm planning on dual booting this system with windows and im a gamer so i want the best compatible graphics card under $160.

"Compatibility" doesn't exist. The drivers will certainly work with a Debian vendor kernel, but the likelihood of issues and problems is slightly higher. If Debian has also messed with the filesystem layout and moved things to nonstandard places, then you may have to do a lot of manual copying.

You can try consulting a Debian list, asking if the NVIDIA drivers install easily onto a Debian distro.

Default following the the standard install instructions

following the the standard install instructions in the readme has always worked for me with debian.
Only problem I had was getting rid of Mesa first.
