You know, it was a good thing when I had that cookie problem with onsale. It is because of that, that I spent $5 more and ordered my dad's touchpad from costcentral instead. So far, they haven't cancelled anybody's order yet, and in fact, many are reporting theirs have shipped.

Got my ouchpad.

First went through 20 minutes of updates to latest OS version.

Then, launching the app catalog results in an "action cannot be completed, try again later" message. Then it's just a blank page, have to skip out and relaunch. Relaunched several times, same thing. Just simply cannot access the app catalog.

Yes, I can access internet via browser.

Not a very good first impression. I guess there's a reason why they were selling this for 20% of original price.

God ****ing damn it.. Moo ordered literally 20 minutes before me at the same site, and he already has his. I still don't even have a tracking number.

YESSSSSS

Tracking update finally!!!

So it departed from Memphis, TN at 5AM this morning.. but they got me the tracking number just minutes ago. Anyways, I'll live.

It says it will be delivered Saturday, but I kind of doubt that.
I would assume it be here by Monday (Hopefully)

So I can finally join the club.

6 free paid apps with promo code, limited time only:

http://blog.palm.com/palm/2011/08/6-pack.html

EDIT: Easiest way to get it is to browse the web page on your touchpad, long press on the promo code text, copy, then click the link for the app, click on the green price button on upper right, click use promo code, long press in the text entry field, then paste.

Also there will be another six free apps next month.

My boss got one for $50 somehow. I got to play with it for about 10 minutes today.

NOT IMPRESSED.

The thing is DOG slow. Orientation sensing is bad and it just feels sluggish. He said he had to "find a way to turn off logging" because apparently it was FAR worse when he first got it. It's heavy, not intuitive to use, and is simply not an iPad. Hell, it's not an Android phone.

I really liked WebOS on the Pre. This certainly wasn't a "superb" version of that experience.

For $100 I suppose it's a semi-decent web browser (even though I hate the end of page "clipping") and it does have Angry Birds. Didn't play but I couldn't imagine it's very smooth.

Yeah staples sold them for that much. I had the opportunity to buy from there but I already went to wal-mart, so I didn't go to staples just before they opened.

Seems fine to me. Then again I applied a bunch of tweaks right out of the box.

Not intuitive? Wow, that's what I really thought was cool about it. It seems way more intuitive than Android. The speed seems fine to me too.
Yea it's heavier than the ipad2 and I agree it isn't an ipad, not as smooth as one but the interface is nicer. It also isn't an Android, it's a lot better interface and more intuitive.

My main gripe for it would be not as many apps as ios or Android.

No way would I buy one at it's regular price but for the price they have them now it's wonderful.
