There was a part of that China level that was crashing for me too, the Pod apartment complex, I fixed it by dropping down to directX9 mode until I left, then it ran fine in DX11 again, kinda odd, I think it didnt like tesselation or some other DX11 effect in that place.

That's EXACTLY where I was crashing. There and another place. The dreaded nvlkddkm error.

Glad i'm not alone in that.

No crashes in DX 9 but it stutters badly.

I kept logs of the GPU using GPU-Z. The weird part is, only 187MB is showing as used and even under "load" the hottest it gets is 54C.

Kombustor thrashes the cards upto 80C without error.

Really at a loss now.

It felt like the game was just crashing randomly though at the time.

Yeah It was starting to irritate me too, I tried everything before dropping down to DX9, no specific effect seemed to fix it until I dropped to DX9. DX9 was stuttery as hell for me too, at least on initial loads, once everything was loaded it was fine, but as you go through a level I think DX9 mode streams in data off the HDD to keep memory useage down. Why they'd do that I'd never know because as you said it doesnt hardly use any memory. Luckly that was the only place I experienced that problem.

Another thing I miss is the fact that there are no actual melee weapons. I wish you could use your arm blades manually, I always loved the dragon tooth and speed mods in Deus Ex. Also loved loading up on speed and leg enhancements in EYE and using a sword and jumping around, nothing better than sneaking up, launching out of a hiding spot, chopping some dude down, and jumping up two stories while his buddies are looking around like "Wtf?" LOL.

I'm happy with the mechanics of the game, just wish it was technically sound. Feel like my PC is outright broken after months of stability. lol

Sounds odd, but are your user files on a different drive to Steam?

Or is Steam on your C: drive?

Don't know why some of you are having so many technical issues. 10 hours in and not a single crash or bug.

No idea what's causing it.

First game since March to give me this sort of grief. Could go down the route of pulling every part out incase there is a culprit, or.... I could just play one of the 100 or so games on my Steam list that do work fine. lol

Sorry but your post makes it seem like you haven't played the game at all...not saying EYE is a bad game, but this is pure fanboyism at its worst, and it's a shame too because they're both good games. No gfx or mouse settings? Have you tried using the menus or the out-of-game setup utility? "Press E bla bla"? I'm not even sure what you're referring to here. The cover system is completely optional and I'm sure you'd see that if you actually tried playing the game. The UI is very well designed and clearly favors the PC version.

Have you played Deus Ex 1 recently? I played through it about 3 times in the past couple of months and I can say that Human Revolution is a worthy prequel and successor in every way I can think of.

Steam is on my C: drive. I heard of some kind of steam authentication issues with multiple drives, can't remember the exact details.

i have steam on a separate drive and don't get crashing issues, but often the OS doesn't switch to basic mode like it used to when steam was on c:.
