Hello:
My laptop, Lenovo z470 has two video cards: - Nvidia GT520M - Intel HD 3000 In openSUSE 11.4 (x86_64), when I see the System Information, the O.S recognize both cards BUT only works the Intel. - If I install the driver (NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-280.13.run) the "X" don't work. - If I edit the xorg.conf to force to use the Nvidia card, the "X" don't work. - If I edit the xorg.conf to force to use the Intel card, the "X" works. |

Nvidia do not support optimus on Linux.
I do not think you can turn off the switchable graphics. IGP is connected to the display and the NV GPU works through routing. read this article http://techreport.com/articles.x/18443/2 |
