Original Crysis coming to consoles in October

Pretty out of the blue... wonder how well it will do considering there looks to be a pretty packed release schedule this holiday season.

Weird move imo. People played Crysis 2 on console and now will buy/play Crysis? We'll see but I highly doubt it.

Apparently a download-only title and only the single player campaign, going for 1600 MS points. The site quotes Euros for PSN, but 1600 MS points in Europe is still $20 here right?

Indeed..
Considering that the they have remade a lot of the tech and implemented stuff like a GI, displacement maps, better SSAO and in general increased the efficiency of the engine.

Yes, it would be superior to original even with same assets.

Well it's never going to happen on the PC and the CE3 was designed more for consoles anyway, It's the reason why Crysis runs on consoles in the first place.
