5Ghz on a good air solution seems to be possible. AMD did their research on Bulldozer.

I can't wait for clock for clock performance comparisons with Intel.

Sounds awesome. Let's see what real-world performance is like compared to the competition.

My fear is this just sounds like a lot of hype, and in the past when AMD get's a lot of hype regarding their upcomming products they've tended to be underwhelming.

I'll wait to read reviews and end-user feedback before deciding anything.

It certainly would be nice to have another option although, I'm not a fan of their chipsets.

Still, it will be interesting to see what AMD rolls out

Now- something I'm not absolutely clear on and since we're discussing it...

1024 bytes = 1 kilobyte. 1024 kilobytes = 1 megabyte. 1024 megabytes = 1 gigabyte. 1024 gigabytes = 1 terabyte. On and on and on.

Does that apply to hertz as well? As in 1024 hertz = 1 kilohert, 1024 kilohertz = 1 megahert, 1024 megahertz = 1 gigahert, 1024 gigahertz = 1 terahert?

Or is the hertz range metric i.e 100 hertz to a kilohert and so on?

Been a while since I studied this stuff so it's small little facts like this I forget every now and then.

EDIT: Wiki to save the day!

Quote:
In English, hertz is used as a plural.[4] As an SI unit, Hz can be prefixed; commonly used multiples are kHz (kilohertz, 10^3 Hz), MHz (megahertz, 10^6 Hz), GHz (gigahertz, 10^9 Hz) and THz (terahertz, 10^12 Hz).
It is a "metric system" of measurement so to speak, as in 1000 hertz equaling 1 kilohertz.

Hertz is a frequency and cant be compared to storage. However it does go 100, 1000, 10000, and so on.
