I would highly recommend snagging a demo before dropping the money. Who knows maybe you could get into it. All I know is that it felt like I bought a bargain-bin game for AAA price.

horrible horrible game, reviews keep coming in way below average.

what is really sad that this game and Dead Island is from the same developer.

Dead Island is awesome game, while this is complete trash

Shame they stuck the call of Juarez name on this game. The first 2 were so awesome it seems they stuck their b team on this, slapped a name on it an decided to release. Way to tarnish the brand

I'm playing it now. Actually not a bad game in spite of what's being said about it (but what the hell do I know, I liked Duke too). Visually you can tell this game is from the same maker (same engine) as Dead Island. Lots of similarities in the visuals (but a lot more action in The Cartel). Fun to play with one exception.

The voice acting does get on my nerves. The voice acting in a game is as important to me as the graphics. It's what gives the game the personality. Techland missed it bigtime in this game. In this game it gets irritating after awhile listening to the repetitive and monotonous comments while shooting is going on. One shot you're praised (couple of different praises) and the next shot you suck (couple of different suck comments). This goes on and on and over and over in every firefight, only limited by how many bullets you shoot. After the first firefight, I'm yelling, shut the fck up already"!

If it wasn't for that, I would actually rate this game pretty well.
I7 3770 @ 4.4 gig (Noctua NH-U14S Heatsink), ASRock Z77 Extreme6, 16 Gigs (2x8) Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600, EVGA GTX 680 Signature 2, Acer P236H 23" (1920x1080), X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Pro, 2 WD 640 gig SATA HDDs, WD 750 gig HDD (eSata), WD 1TB Black HDD, Sandisk 32 GB ReadyCache SSD, 2 SATA DVD Burners, Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Speaker System, Corsair TX750w PSU, HSPC Top Deck Tech Station, Windows 7 Pro x64

The graphics don't look that bad. A lil too bloomy, yes, but they aren't bad. The second game while a bit consolized, it was still an awesome game with beautiful visuals.
