tmt5 does play the disc fine, powerdvd has issues with rendering/decrypting the video stream. it has nothing to do with drives firmware.

i tried that total theater program above it said that
also some file associated with it gave me a virus

I like Arcsoft Total Media Theater better than Cyberlink. It has played everything I have loaded on it. The thing with Cyberlink it puts stuff all over you registy. Really hard to clean it up.

VSO just released a freebie BD player. I don't know how it will play latest releases but it is free, very small foot print.

so i was having all this bs again so i said **** it and went out and bought this

and it works fine the only port on it it says coaxial digital is their any wire i cant get that will plug into that that will let me plug my speakers into the other end of it?
