I'm finally doing a base system upgrade.....CPU, RAM, mobo and HSF....I figure since I only run vid card I can milk a little more mileage out of my Power&Cooling 610w Silencer. Keeping the EVGA 570 and HDs also....
Anyway, I'm replacing what is in my sig with: Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 Z68 G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 EVGA M020 Superclock CPU Cooler

Maverick, looks like you have a setup very close to what I'm getting.....Can I ask what setting you used to get 4.5ghz?
I am not new to PC or OCing but I've just been out of the game for a while. I'm rusty on my tweaking and not overly familiar with the new platform. thx

Congrats! This setup looks beautiful, I really love Gigabyte's new black PCBs, and that heatsink is impressive. My Z68X-UD4-B3 + i5 2500K arrived yesterday, but I forgot to take pics
The greatest thing, however, is the improvement in loading times. My SSD was running OK on my previous board, but now... Windows 7 takes 6-7 seconds to load. In fact, with 'quick boot' enabled, it takes about 30 seconds from the moment I turn the machine on to the moment all desktop items are displayed and the disk activity light goes off! I see our setups are now fairly similar, so I strongly recommend an SSD (I use it just for the OS and FSX, and I store all data on the WD Blacks).

I really wanted to add an SSD to this build, but to be honest I had to keep some cash in reserve for the up coming games I want.
