This is what puts a smile on my face. Metro rush feels far too console gameplay ala bfbc2 and was enough to make me hold off from pre ordering bf3. I am a PC gamer, i love Battlefield games (the originals not the bad company crap), and would like to play a battlefield game with DX11 visuals but with the old gameplay style that keeps you coming back for more. Conquest does that....Rush fails at that, 1 is PC the other is console, 1 is very tactical the other is for CoD rush players. Caspian border map should have been the PC beta map not crappy metro built for console crap map.

played some more... it is definitely really fun when the server is running smoothly and you do not sink into the ground.

I played for an hour or two last night. It's definitely better than the BFBC2 beta (that sucked - thankfully the game turned out to be far better). I will say I think we got the crappiest map for the better, and I'm not convinced that the Ultra graphics actually are Ultra.

Now about the server browser: it's about F'ing time game devs got a clue and did this! Seriously, why spend time and money developing your own in-game browser from scratch in C++ when you can leverage .NET, Java/J2EE or some other web service infrastructure and do your server browsing and player stats from a simple webpages. It's more secure, easier to maintain and provides tons of objects to get things rolling quickly. Not to mention it looks better than what the previous BF games had. Kudos to DICE on that!

the server filters are awesome and it looks like quick match will finally be useful thanks to them. also, battlelog browser is being updated today which would have used to require a game patch

has anybody made an NVNews platoon yet? we could all "platoon" up.

Most of the glaring problems were fixed before release, and many of the remaining bugs were very annoying things that still left the game playable. Things like graphical glitches will be sorted out by ATI/Nvidia, and things like falling through the floor will be fixed by DICE.

My point was that bitching about a beta is like bitching about your meal before it's cooked.

You're kidding me right? BF BC2 was released with all the same bugs the beta had. The beta was so late they didnt have time to change it as the code was more than likely already gold. There were only a few days between the beta and retail.

And in case you forgot...

Bad Company 2 PC would kick off "very early" in 2010, developer EA DICE has announced the beta will run January 28 through February 25, 2010 along with several other details.

It was released to retail NA March 2, 2010.

They didn't fix anything from the beta to the retail. I remember this well because I was disappointed with having same bugs when I bought it.
