Worth buying to be a part of the biggest fail in PC gaming history. Why would you want to miss that? lol
Metacritic user score of 3.1 This is the new Daikatana, and I was defending this damn game. Until I got to the Dead City and realised how poor this engine really is. Game is about 9hrs long at most too, don't believe the lies.

Here are my findings.
Using the ingame AA setting makes the textures worse, it sort of blurs them. It must be using some form of MLAA / FXAA and does that nasty vaseline thing. There is an extra config which is meant to eliminate the texture pop in, worth a go. http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=2156408

MLAA/FXAA definitely blurs everything, but in well done games like Hard Reset where the textures are all very sharp it actually looks better to soften everything a bit.

All these configs...would it kill them to put in some sliders/tweaks in the game itself? I can't believe id software put out a game where the only video options are resolution and AA. Unreal.

To be fair, Doom3 only had a limited set of graphics options as well and their games have always been like that.

I'm having a blast with this game so far. Save system isn't broken, works just fine. iD and Bethesda (and AMD/NVIDIA) need to hurry up with the graphics texture fix along with HD textures. Some new NVIDIA drivers wouldn't hurt either. |
